Assist Clients with Medication course teaches the skills and knowledge required to provide support for a person to self-administer medication. It has been endorsed by industry as suitable for individuals who hold a qualification at Certificate III level or higher in an area involving the provision of direct client care or support.
You must already hold the unit of competency, HLTAAP001 Recognise healthy body systems, to be eligible for this course.
This course is suitable for people working in various care and support roles in the community services industry who wish to develop skills in supporting people to self-administer medication.
Theory is delivered over 2 days in the classroom, then you have an additional 7 weeks to undertake your workplace observations.
Government funding may be available for this course via the NSW Government’s Smart and Skilled program.
