ETC Announces Coffs Nursing Centre as Employer of the Month

Aged care provider, Coffs Nursing Centre has been announced as the Enterprise & Training Company Limited (ETC) Employer of the Month.

Diversional Therapist Bernadette Kane said it was great for the local Nursing Centre to have been recognised.

“I’ve been with Coffs Nursing Centre for 30 years and they are a great employer. They have good values and systems to work with and are very supportive of aged care education,” Ms Kane said.

The Centre has provided Coffs Coast students with work placement in conjunction with the Enterprise and Training Company (ETC) WORKIT Aged Care training courses. The students were provided with real life skills training that was delivered under the guidance of an Aged Care Trainer and Nurse.

Coffs Nursing Centre AIN Cathy Florent had worked alongside the students during their placement.

“The students have all been great to work with. The ETC trainer Vicki is excellent. She’s very good with the students and great to work alongside. I’ve enjoyed my time with them all,” Ms Florent said.

Aged Care Trainer Vicki Lawrence said there had been excellent outcomes for the recent WORKIT Aged Care course in Coffs Harbour.

“We had a 100% course completion rate with all six students graduating,” Ms Lawrence said.

“Not only that, but two of the students secured employment with Coffs Nursing Centre as AIN’s. This is a tremendous result.

“We are purposely keeping our class sizes small so our students receive personal quality service.

“ETC was named the best small training provider in NSW in 2013 and we are confident our new training programs will help us continue to change the course of people’s lives and help put them on the pathway to success.”
