Retail and wholesale food manufacturer Specialised Chickens has been announced as the Enterprise & Training Company Limited (ETC) Employer of the Month.
The Murwillumbah born and bred company has been operating for over 30 years and was the original inventor of the famous ‘garlic chicken ball’.
Sales Representative Michelle Tansey said the company started out by serving customers in the Gold Coast and Tweed Regions.
“We’ve gradually expanded beyond the Queensland market and now supply wholesale nationally throughout Australia,” Ms Tansey said.
“The growth has enabled us to employ around 40 local staff at the moment, which could increase even further over the next year as we’re currently experiencing a high growth in sales.”
According to Michelle the company provided a supportive, family atmosphere with plenty of job opportunities.
“We have admin, sales, boners, cleaners, quality assurance and factory work options here at Specialised,” Ms Tansey said.
“My advice to jobseekers is to always be presentable, smile, be happy and never give up.”
Michelle said four of the Specialised staff had been employed through local jobactive provider ETC.
“We’re really happy with our staff. We’ve found that ETC is really good at placing the right people into the right job with us,” Ms Tansey said.
Specialised gives back to the community by donating pet food to Friends of the Hound, provide food for those in need at the Murwillumbah Community Centre, gift cards to Murwillumbah RSL and Murwillumbah Primary School, donations to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter and various other community events.
