Not-for-profit community organisation Enterprise & Training Company (ETC) is proud to announce its support for Windara Communities Limited.

ETC CEO Jenny Barnett said ETC’s sponsorship would go towards supporting Windara’s annual fundraising events including the local Music Muster, Jazz & Shiraz, Father’s Day Pig Races, Rock N Roll Arvo and Carols by Fireworks.

Windara Manager Sharee Denson said the events were very important not only because they helped to increase revenue for the service but they also provided work experience for people with disability.

“Windara Communities Limited is an Australian Disability Enterprise which provides quality supported employment and training for people with a disability in the Richmond Valley,” explains Ms Denson

“We employ 16 local people with disabilities across our various business enterprises. These community events give our employees the opportunity to develop their skills through customer service, event sales and food preparation.”

“Also for our budding entertainers – at the music events they can sing and perform, where they wouldn’t normally get an opportunity to otherwise.”

Ms Denson thanked ETC for the support.

“We’re extremely grateful to ETC. We realise that sponsorship is a big deal these days and we do really appreciate our sponsors. Windara gets government funding but it still needs to raise its own money to keep running,” she said.

ETC CEO Jenny Barnett recently visited Windara in Casino to have a tour of the centre and meet some the community members who were benefiting from its service.

“Being a not-for-profit, jobactive provider and Registered Training Organisation, ETC is proud to be supporting Windara. This aligns perfectly with our own goals of helping to reduce disadvantage and providing employment and training opportunities in the local region,” Ms Barnett said.

“We encourage the local community to also show their support by attending Windara’s fundraising events during the year.”
