People looking to start or grow their existing business in the Port Macquarie-Hastings will now be able to access support from experienced business professional Renae Tate.

Renae will be based at the ETC office in Port Macquarie four days a week and will be available by appointment in Port Macquarie, Camden Haven, Wauchope, Kempsey and Taree to offer subsidised business advice, guidance and support to local businesses as part of ETC’s Australian Small Business Advisory Service (ASBAS) contract.

“I’m thrilled about this opportunity and I believe there are exciting times ahead for businesses in this region,” Ms Tate said.

“There is strong economic growth underway with infrastructure including the new University, highway and hospital upgrades, growth in the health sector, the release of new industrial lands at Sancrox and the new Kmart retail development.

“There is also a strong construction industry led by the demand for housing, growth in tourism and events and the steady increase in population in the region, which all lead to business opportunities.”

Ms Tate comes from a small business background and has been involved in a range of successful start-ups to market leadership positions.

“I have a passion for business development, identifying new opportunities and markets, business and financial planning, goal setting, sales and marketing,” Ms Tate said.

“It is so exciting to see someone’s idea and passion develop into a business. To be able to support people in the process of taking their vision and turning it into a reality, or helping business owners take their business to the next level of growth and profitability, is something I thrive on.

“Having a small business can be one of the most challenging and rewarding things you can do, and having guidance and support during the process can save a lot of time, money and heartache.

“I look forward to helping businesses achieve success and reach their full potential, which is why I have joined the team at ETC.”

ETC’s Business Programs Manager Kevin Riddell said Ms Tate will be an invaluable member to the ETC team.

“Renae brings a wealth of experience from her roles in economic development at Port Macquarie-Hastings Council, her time as a small business owner in Real Estate and Hospitality and her skills in assisting start-ups and growing businesses,” Mr Riddell said.

“She has the ability to provide expert advice and support to the small business community.”
