MEDIA RELEASE: ETC secures new Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) contract

We’ve got some exciting news… ETC is expanding its support for job seekers in Wivenhoe after securing the new Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) contract with the Department of Employment and Workplace Relations.

The SEE Program, which will be delivered by ETC from July, offers language, literacy, numeracy, and digital (LLND) training to eligible job seekers in Ipswich, Goodna, Richlands, and Springfield.

These foundational skills are important for supporting individuals’ integration and participation in Australian society, improving employment prospects, and facilitating future training and development opportunities. The training will be customised to participants’ abilities and goals.

ETC’s CEO, Damon Munt, said the community-oriented company is thrilled to help people across the Wivenhoe region enhance their LLND skills and find meaningful employment.

“At ETC, we believe that empowering individuals with essential skills is not just about finding employment; it’s about creating a stronger, more connected community.”

“It’s clear that increasing literacy and numeracy levels not only greatly impacts an individual’s economic well-being, but also their social well-being. This creates a foundation for lifelong learning and personal growth.”

“By helping job seekers to build these foundational abilities, ETC aims to bridge the gap between education and employment, fostering sustainable career pathways,” Mr Munt said.

The SEE program focuses on essential skills such as reading, writing, mathematics, and computer literacy. These skills underpin workforce productivity and social inclusion.

They are essential for granting individuals access to an education system that opens doors to career development and learning opportunities.

As a leading provider of business, training, and employment services with over 35 years of industry experience, ETC has a proven track record of helping people secure pathways into training, education, and employment.

We have helped over 105,000 people in finding work, supported 50,000 students in training, and assisted nearly 41,000 small businesses.

ETC’s SEE participants will have access to a range of technology and innovations designed to provide flexible learning throughout their SEE journey.

These opportunities include hands-on practice of digital skills, ultimately increasing participants’ confidence and effectiveness in training and the labour force.

ETC will commence delivery of the new SEE Program starting in July 2024.
