Job seeker Stuart wanted to find work, but he was facing a number of challenges in his job search, including the limitations set by his parole.
ETC’s Recruitment Advisor, Kiahna, was determined to help Stuart find the right job. She worked closely with him, taking into account the requirements and limitations of his parole.
Stuart was initially successful in obtaining a role at Moore Global Resources, however, due to the extended background checks that must be undertaken under his parole conditions, the offer was withdrawn.
But Kiahna wasn’t deterred. She advocated for Stuart’s suitability for the role and convinced the employer, Levi, to reconsider and speak with the parole officer.
Through her persistence and dedication, she was able to facilitate a positive outcome for Stuart. As a result, Stuart was successfully hired in late 2022.
“It was the hardest time for me, no employer would give me a chance with the mistakes I have made in the past,” said Stuart.
“I have been given this second chance and I cannot wait to prove myself! I will not blow it.”
Kiahna is also assisting Stuart with obtaining a Forklift License, ensuring that he has no limitations at work and setting him up for long-term employment.
After being employed for over three months, Stuart has regained his confidence and pride, and is grateful for the opportunity he has been given.
“Everyone deserves a second chance,” said Levi.
“People make mistakes and do their time. They should not have to be punished once they have done it.
“With the post-placement support, assisting Stuart with his Forklift License, and the support I can see ETC give, it was an easy decision to give him a shot.”
