At a time when many people have been stood down and many more are worried about job security, one long-term unemployed man in Lismore has secured a cleaning job during the coronavirus crisis.
Son, who was out of work for nearly a year, had been living in a caravan park and was generally doing things tough.
He had a background in cleaning from a few years back and was open to returning to this field if an opportunity became available close to home.
A large cleaning company was looking for someone to clean the local Catholic Dioceses office. The employer advised that the job was very physical due to the fact that here was a lot of wood that needed to be polished every day.
ETC contacted Son about this position and arranged for an interview with the employer. The employer was impressed with Son and offered him a job.
A few weeks after he commenced work, ETC contacted Son and this is what he had to say:
“Thanks for your help ETC. I’ve now been able to move out of the caravan park and find myself a unit to live in. I am much happier.”
