Nambucca business revels in achievements

One of Nambucca Heads’ largest employers has earned yet another award.

Nambucca Heads RSL Club has been named ETC Employer of the Month which comes on the heels of a similar award from Clubs NSW for the company’s supportive approach to staff.

Assistant Manager Wendy Mills is thrilled with the local recognition from ETC.  “We have set ourselves some pretty high standards.  So yes, it’s great to receive this acknowledgement,” Wendy said.

The business has a growing membership base and 75 dedicated staff to ensure the club runs smoothly and efficiently. The club has a strong commitment to staff training and a focus on skills development and continuous improvement.

“Staff are our greatest asset. They represent our business every day and are often the first point of contact for patrons,” said Wendy. “It’s important they communicate well, display good manners and are well-groomed so they can confidently deal with the wide range of customer requests.”

The club maintains a good working relationship with Enterprise & Training Company Limited (ETC) and provides a venue where ETC students can undertake hospitality training.  “That arrangement has worked well for us, and has also given us some new recruits.  In fact, we have employed two apprentices as a result of the training program, and we are about to take on another,” said Wendy.

As the club continues to attract more local patrons and visitors from Regional NSW and Interstate, it has strengthened its focus on helping the local community. “We are an integral part of the Nambucca community and keen to support local. Our staff are all locals who enjoy coming to work in such a beautiful setting.”

“I can see a great future for the club,” adds Wendy.
