What is SEE?

Whether you’re new to the workforce, thinking about a career change, or simply want to enhance your skills, ETC’s SEE Program can help you get ahead.

These foundational skills can open doors to better job prospects, career growth, and lifelong learning.

Plus, you’ll build confidence and gain the skills you need for everyday tasks like filling out forms, reading bus timetables and doing your banking.

Training delivery options

The SEE Program also includes Workplace-Based Training Projects where employers, industry associations and unions can partner with a SEE Provider to deliver workplace-based training to employed Australians.

Flexible training options

With SEE, you can:

  • Start at your own level and learn at your own pace
  • Study full-time or part-time, anywhere in Australia
  • Continue to work, look for a job or care for your family
  • Learn in a classroom, your workplace or remotely
  • Choose training based on your needs and goals

Eligibility for SEE

To be eligible for SEE you need to be either:

  • An Australian citizen or
  • A permanent visa holder or
  • On a provisional or temporary visa with working rights and eligible for the Adult Migrant English Program or
  • A Pacific Australian Labour Mobility visa holder

And be:

  • Aged 15 years and over and left school, And
  • Need help with your reading, writing, maths, English language or digital skills

Courses to Help You Get Ready for a Job

The SEE Program runs free courses to help you learn skills for work and study. You can choose a course that is right for you. Each course helps you learn step by step in a friendly class.

When you finish a course, you get a certificate. A certificate shows what you have learned. It can help you apply for jobs, start more training, or feel proud of your progress.

FSK10219 – Certificate I in Skills for Vocational Pathways

This course helps you learn basic skills like reading, writing, speaking, maths, and using computers. It is a good starting point if you are new to learning or want to get ready for more study or work.

Course Locations: Inala, Richlands, Goodna, Ipswich
Duration: Rolling weekly intake – no fixed time to complete
Training Delivery: Face to Face

Course Overview:
This qualification is designed for individuals who need skills to prepare for a vocational pathway qualification or further foundation skills development.
It is suitable for individuals who require:
• a pathway to employment and further vocational training
• reading, writing, oral communication, learning and numeracy skills
• entry level digital technology and employability skills
• education, training and employment goals.

Career Outcomes
This qualification is designed to help you develop the necessary skills to feel confident in achieving your aspirations and seek further study.

This course helps you improve your reading, writing, speaking, maths, and computer skills. It is a good next step if you already have some basic skills and want to get ready for work or more training.

BSB20120 – Certificate II in Workplace Skills

This course helps you get ready for work. It is good for people who have not worked before and want to learn basic job skills. You will learn how to follow instructions, use a computer, work with others, manage your time and work safely. This course helps you build confidence and prepare for different types of jobs.

Training Delivery: Face to Face

Course Overview:
This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of entry-level Business Services job roles. This qualification also reflects the role of individuals who have not yet entered the workforce and who are developing the necessary skills in preparation for work.

This qualification is designed to help you develop the necessary skills to enter the workforce or to work in a variety of entry-level Business Services job roles.

SIT20322 – Certificate II in Hospitality

This course helps you learn how to work in places like cafés, restaurants, hotels, and clubs. You will learn basic skills for jobs like waiter, cleaner, kitchen helper, or receptionist.

Course Locations: Richlands
Duration: Rolling weekly intake – no fixed time to complete
Training Delivery: Face to Face

Course Overview:
Learn how to be competent in a range of activities and functions requiring basic operational knowledge and limited practical skills in various hospitality settings, such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafes, and coffee shops.

Career Outcomes
Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include:
• Bar attendant
• Housekeeping attendant
• Bottle shop attendant
• Porter
• Catering assistant
• Receptionist or front office assistant
• Food and beverage attendant
• Gambling attendant

CHC33021 – Certificate III in Individual Support

This course teaches you how to care for people who are older, have a disability, or need help. You will learn how to support people in homes or the community. It is good for people who want to work in care jobs.

Course Locations: Inala
Duration: Rolling weekly intake – no fixed time to complete
Training Delivery: Face to Face

Course Overview:
This qualification reflects the role of workers in the community and/or residential setting who follow an individualised plan to provide person-centred support to people who may require support due to ageing, disability or some other reason.

Career Outcomes
Job roles and titles vary across different industry sectors. Possible job titles relevant to this qualification include:
• Accommodation support worker
• Community care worker
• Assistant in nursing
• Personal care giver/worker/assistant
• In-home respite giver/worker
• Disability service officer/worker (in some jurisdictions)
