The Learning Collaborative (TLC) is a successful Gold Coast training company that delivers a range of nationally recognised training programs.  The Nerang based business is made up of a team of qualified trainers and assessors delivering training in over 30 qualifications.

General Manager, Jacqui Stuart, said the company continues to go from strength to strength and she was recently in the position of needing staff to help with the growing administrative and support workload.

Jacqui called on the services of her local ETC consultant, Alec Palupe, to seek out suitable staff to fill the vacant roles.  “I cannot speak highly enough of the ETC staff”, says Jacqui, “They were great.  I certainly recommend them – the level of service was exceptional”.

Two of Jacqui’s newest recruits are Bree Paterson and Alyris (Aly) Grebert.  While still quite new in their roles of admin assistant and graphic designer, respectively, both speak highly of the welcoming culture of the work environment.

“I’m already loving it”, said Bree. “I’ve worked in a range of other industries such as retail and hospitality, but this is great.  I enjoy multi-tasking and know I am up for the challenge”. “Thanks to ETC for helping guide me into the role.  And my advice to others is – try your best, but always be yourself”, Bree added.

Aly has had a similar experience.

“This is a career for me”, said Aly, “I am so happy to get this opportunity. What I love about graphic design is that you can see the world differently – offer something people can appreciate. To other job seekers I would say:  Work hard and continually improve your skills.”

For Jacqui, who has a strong background in recruitment, it’s a matter of trusting “your gut feel” about a candidate.  “While skill sets are important, other things such as motivation, attitude and willpower are characteristics I would also be considering”, she said.
