A person working in a pharmacy

We met with Keeley Rothwell the Retail Manager at Blooms the Chemist Elanora to get the inside scoop to help job seekers who are interested in a career in the Pharmacy industry.

You can watch our interview with Keeley here, otherwise there is a breakdown below.

What qualities do you look for when hiring staff?

  • A big smile
  • Empathy skills
  • That you can connect and relate to a customer and meet their needs (customers may not be feeling well when they come into a pharmacy, so it’s important to make them feel comfortable and like they want to return here)
  • If you’re not interested in customer service, then there’s no point in working in the Pharmacy industry

What stands out to you in a Resume?

Customer Service skills, however sometimes it is easy to train a person who hasn’t had any experience. They can be shown what the expectation is and mould them to become a great customer service person in Pharmacy.

Interview Tips

I try not to use the word interview. Just relax and have a chat about what you would like to get out of the job and we’ll say what we expect – to make sure both sets of needs are being met.

Thanks Keeley!
