Just started a new job? ETC is here to support you through Post Placement Support

Whether you just got a job or are looking for one, ETC is here to support you. Our Post Placement Support service (also known as PPS) is designed to help job seekers transition into work, settle into their new roles, and stay employed long-term.

We understand that starting a new job can be exciting – but also challenging. That’s why PPS is here to make sure you feel confident, supported, and connected.

What is Post Placement Support?

Post Placement Support is a personalised service that provides up to 6 months of ongoing assistance once you start working. It aims to help you adjust to your new role, overcome any challenges, and access the resources you need to thrive.

Whether you’re working full-time, part-time, or casually, PPS ensures you’re not alone in your employment journey. We’ll stay in touch, offer guidance, and help you navigate any bumps along the way.

PPS is available to eligible job seekers who have recently started work through ETC. It is also for those who found their own job while with ETC. It’s part of our commitment to helping you succeed, not just in finding a job, but in keeping it.

What you can expect from Post Placement Support

Starting a new job is a big step, and ETC is here to walk alongside you. PPS is designed to give you the right support at the right time, so you can focus on settling into your role and building a strong foundation for your future.

How ETC supports you:

  • Customised support: PPS is tailored to your individual needs
  • Flexible catchups: Choose between fortnightly or monthly check-ins
  • Health services available: For example access to counselling support continues during PPS
  • Financial assistance: Support may be available to help with work-related costs such as uniforms, transport, tools, or other essentials needed to maintain your employment. Speak with your Job Advisor to find out what you may be eligible for
  • Additional training: Want to get that promotion but need additional training or tickets? ETC may be able to assist
  • Workplace support: Help navigating challenges or accessing external services and resources

Speak with your Job Advisor to find out what you may be eligible for!

What happens after you start work?

Once you start work and meet your employment requirements under the Workforce Australia guidelines:

  • Your job search requirements will be reduced or removed (depending on the hours you are working)
  • Your Jobs Advisor will stay in touch via phone, email or face to face appointments (whatever works best for you)
  • You’ll be supported through PPS for up to 6 months

ETC will also need to:

  • Confirm your employment details on your payslips
  • Schedule milestone check-ins to ensure you’re on track

What are the requirements?

Staying in touch helps us help you. While there are no strict requirements if you’re meeting your work hour obligations, here are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Casual workers: Must still attend appointments
  • Work comes first: Your job is the top priority—appointments will be scheduled around your work
  • Payslips: Providing payslips or other employment evidence helps us confirm your status and unlock continued support
  • PBAS (Points Based Activation System): It’s important to update your PBAS (unless you’re exempt)
  • No extra requirements: If you’re meeting your work hour obligations, there are no additional requirements!
