ETC supports Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse with $39,000 to purchase a new vehicle for members

Access to reliable transport can be life-changing. Especially for people living with mental health conditions who often face isolation, limited mobility, and barriers to community engagement.

Reliable transport means more than just getting from A to B. It’s about connection, independence, and the ability to participate in activities that support recovery and wellbeing.

Thanks to a $39,000 grant from the ETC Community Support Fund, Endeavour Mental Health Recovery Clubhouse in Port Macquarie now has a brand-new Hyundai Tucson! This vehicle will help members stay connected, engaged, and supported on their recovery journey – removing a major barrier to participation in community activities and programs.

Importantly: members were actively involved in selecting the vehicle, ensuring it meets their needs and preferences.

The ETC Community Support Fund was established in 2012 to provide financial assistance to community organisations tackling urgent needs. Particularly those that remove barriers to employment, social inclusion, and wellbeing. Since then, we’ve proudly given back over $3 million to not-for-profit, community organisations across our footprint! Learn more >

Breaking down the impact

Endeavour Clubhouse provides a safe, caring, and non-institutional environment for individuals living with mental health conditions on the Mid North Coast.

Through their programs, Endeavour Clubhouse combines social connection with skill-building and employment-focused activities. These programs empower people to regain confidence, build independence, and reconnect with their community.

Members benefit from access to social opportunities, community engagement, and activities designed to support recovery and enhance overall wellbeing.

Their new vehicle will make a significant difference for members who face mobility challenges or lack access to reliable transportation. It will allow the Clubhouse to expand its reach. Connecting members to off-site activities, medical appointments, and community events that are essential for recovery.

This means every member, regardless of funding status, can participate in activities that foster connection, confidence, and personal growth.

For many, this is more than transport, it’s a pathway to inclusion and a reminder that they are valued members of the community.

ETC’s commitment to inclusion

ETC CEO Damon Munt said he is thrilled to support Endeavour Clubhouse through the ETC Community Support Fund.

“Endeavour’s work is vital in providing a safe and supportive environment for individuals living with mental health conditions,” said Mr Munt.

“We’re thrilled that this new vehicle will make a significant difference in the lives of their members by improving accessibility and enabling greater participation in community activities.”

The funding reflects ETC’s commitment to breaking down barriers that prevent people from accessing essential services and opportunities. By funding practical resources like transport, ETC helps ensure that recovery programs are inclusive and accessible to everyone who needs them.

Impact on members

Endeavour Clubhouse CEO Garth Norris said the funding has already had a major impact.

“This vehicle has made a huge difference to our program. It has enabled us to more sustainably provide members with access to a wider range of activities that support their mental health recovery, as well as increasing accessibility for members with mobility challenges,” said Mr Norris.

“We are tremendously grateful to ETC for their invaluable support.”

For Endeavour Clubhouse, the new vehicle is more than just transport. It’s a tool for connection, independence, and hope. It means members can participate in community activities, build confidence, and take steps toward long-term wellbeing.
