ETC is thrilled to announce that we have secured Transition to Work contracts with the Department of Education, Skills and Employment in the Wivenhoe and Wide Bay Sunshine Coast Employment Regions in Queensland.
The Workforce Australia Transition to Work (TtW) Program is designed to support young people aged 15-24 in achieving their employment or education goals.
ETC’s CEO Jenny Barnett said the company was looking forward to expanding the business into new communities and having a positive impact on even more young peoples’ lives.
“ETC has been helping young people secure pathways into training, education and employment for more than 30 years,” Mrs Barnett said.
“We look forward to establishing new offices in Ipswich, Caloundra, Maroochydore, Maryborough, Nambour, Noosaville and Gympie.”
“Our extensive understanding of the Labour Market will ensure our job seekers have the greatest opportunities for success.”
The Queensland Youth Unemployment Rate currently stands at 11.5 % according to the Australian Government Department of Employment Labour Force statistics.
Whereas, the Wivenhoe and Wide Bay Sunshine Coast Employment Regions Youth Unemployment Rates are sitting significantly higher than the state average at between 14%-16%.
Mrs Barnett said while youth unemployment was a serious national issue, real strides can be made at a local level.
“As an experienced TtW provider, ETC will be working closely with local youth, employers and service providers to help reduce this statistic and make a positive impact on people’s lives,” Mrs Barnett said.
“We have a strong service delivery model and look forward to incorporating this in our new communities from 1 July 2022.”
