The Women in Motion program is a free training program designed to support career pathways for women in high-demand industries.

Whether you’re starting fresh, returning to the workforce, or looking for a new direction, this program helps you build confidence and develop practical, job-ready skills to take your next step.

Through hands-on training, industry exposure and personalised support, Women in Motion provides the tools and guidance to help you move forward — even if you’re not sure where to start.

What is Women in Motion?

The Women in Motion program supports women to explore new career opportunities and take the next step into employment in high-demand and non-traditional industries.

You’ll gain hands-on experience in industries such as:

  • Manufacturing
  • Marine
  • Warehousing
  • Logistics
  • Transport

The program includes training delivered in partnership with TAFE, combined with industry exposure to help you build practical, job-ready skills.

A key part of Women in Motion is its wraparound support, providing personalised guidance, mentoring and practical support to help you build confidence, overcome barriers and stay on track.

  • Would benefit from support, training or guidance to get started

The program is open to women living in the Gold Coast and Logan regions.

Through the Women in Motion program, you’ll gain the skills, experience and support to confidently take your next step toward employment.

  • Free, accredited training delivered in partnership with TAFE

You’ll be supported every step of the way to help you build skills, gain experience and move forward into employment.

What’s included in the program

Women in Motion offers a practical, supportive experience designed to help you feel confident, capable and work-ready – even if these industries feel new or unfamiliar.

Build recognised skills through accredited training

Build strong foundations with industry-relevant workplace and safety units, including:

  • Workplace communication
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Managing work priorities
  • Workplace health and safety

These units focus on real-world skills that apply across multiple industries.

Develop practical workplace experience

The service offers a range of support options, including working with a mentor to find activities, services, and training that meets your needs. Some services on offer include:

  • Using hand and power tools
  • Reading plans and basic workplace instructions
  • Completing required safety training, such as White Card
  • Access to industry-specific tickets or licences, where required

Get personalised wraparound support every step of the way

You won’t be expected to do this alone. Women in Motion provides holistic, wraparound support to remove barriers and build confidence, including:

  • Confidence and resilience workshops
    • Build self-belief, motivation and the mindset needed to step into new opportunities and overcome challenges.

  • Mental health and wellbeing support
    • Access support to help you manage stress, build resilience and stay focused throughout the program.

  • Physical fitness sessions (to support safe work readiness)
    • Improve your physical readiness for work, helping you feel confident and capable in active or hands-on roles.

  • Transport assistance (GoCards, vouchers or group transport where available)
    • Reduce barriers to attendance with practical transport support so you can fully participate in the program.

  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) provided
    • Receive the gear you need for training and industry experiences, so you can safely take part in practical activities.

  • Digital literacy support
    • Build essential digital skills, including using devices, online tools and job search platforms.

  • Employment preparation and career planning
    • Get practical support with resumes, interviews and identifying the right career pathway for your goals.

  • Workplace tours in industry with employers
    • Gain real-world exposure to different industries, including non-traditional roles, and connect directly with employers.

  • Ongoing mentoring and regular check-ins
    • Stay supported throughout the program with one-on-one guidance, encouragement and accountability.

This support is designed to help you stay engaged, feel supported and move forward with confidence.

There are no job guarantees. However, this program is designed to put you in the strongest possible position to move into work, with real-world exposure, direct connections with employers, and support to build your confidence and readiness.
