ETC hosts Blues visits to schools

Toormina school students were given a rare opportunity to get up close and personal with some of the country’s best Rugby League players yesterday.

NSW State of Origin players, Captain Robbie Farah and Props Aaron Woods and David Klemmer met with students at Toormina High School and talked about the importance to dream, believe and achieve.

“I always dreamed about playing first grade football and I believed I could do it to and that’s why I bet my brother $1,000 that one day I would achieve my goal,” Robbie Farah said.

With 11 Origin games now under his belt, the Hooker has more than exceeded his original goal.

The students were encouraged to think about their own goals and share them with others as a positive step towards making it happen.

James Tamou, Andrew Fifita and Daniel Tupou visited Toormina Primary School and spoke to the students about building healthy lifestyles and making positive choices by eating well, playing well and staying well.

Hosted by ETC, the school visits were designed to inspire, motivate and entertain the students.

“As a not-for-profit, community orientated organisation ETC is committed to giving back to the communities in which we operate,” ETC’s Executive Manager Marketing, Sally Petersen said.

“It gives us great pleasure to be a partner in the BluesHarbour campaign and to see the excitement on the student’s faces when they met and talked to the players was priceless.”
