ETC attended the largest gathering of business advisors ever engaged to deliver small business support on behalf of the NSW Government in Sydney recently.
The Small Business Development Conference held in the Sydney suburb of Brighton Le Sands was opened by the Minister for Small Business, Katrina Hodgkinson.
“The Conference is providing these advisers with a means of sharing insights that will assist the success and sustainability of NSW’s small businesses,” Ms Hodgkinson said.
Around 60 Small Biz Connect advisors attended the conference, along with the Small Biz Bus which helps them deliver business advice to small businesses across the state.
“We’re really pleased to have had the opportunity to come together with other Small Biz Connect advisors and professionals in the industry to learn and share knowledge. It’s important that we’re doing the best we can for small businesses in NSW,” Kevin Riddell, ETC Business Consultant said.
As part of her opening address, Ms Hodgkinson announced that a new online information sharing tool was available for the advisors to use.
“Today I am pleased to be able to launch an important new resource for Small Biz Connect advisors, Advisor Connect, an online knowledge base and support network.” Minister Hodgkinson said.
Advisor Connect offers Small Biz Connect advisors peer-to-peer support through an online forum, as well as access to resources and the latest small business news and information. Advisors use a range of tools to assist small business owners to make informed decisions about their business. These include financial benchmarking and key demographic information on customers, markets and trends.
“It’s great to have another tool available through the Small Biz Connect program to allow us to develop the skills, resources and networks necessary to support small businesses,” Mr Riddell said.
