Taree’s Tropical Coffee Co. has been announced as the Enterprise & Training Company Limited (ETC) Employer of the Month.
Operating for 15 years, Tropical Coffee Co. employs between 8-10 staff.
According to owner Christine Trengove the secret to their business success has been strong customer service, consistency in service delivery and accommodating people with different dietary requirements.
“We pride ourselves on our customer service and train our staff to acknowledge customers as soon as they enter the store,” Mrs Trengove said.
“We try and have stability with our staff and like to reward them and offer flexibility with their hours.
“We’re always busy and there’s lots of variety. I think that keeps the work interesting for our staff rather than doing the same job continually.”
Tropical Coffee Co. has used local jobactive provider ETC to assist with their employment needs.
“Whenever we need staff they’re always there with suggestions and offer amazing support,” Ms Trengove said.
“I have worked in Human Resources so I understand that side of the business but it’s so nice to be able to focus on running the business and leave the screening, short-listing and reference checking to ETC.
