Graduating students of Enterprise and Training Company Ltd’s (ETC) CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care program are thrilled to have secured paid employment in their chosen career.
ETC’s Executive Manager Training Karen Busby said that one hundred percent of our graduating students who completed the recent child care course in Nambucca all received jobs between Macksville and Urunga.
“This is an outstanding result and is a tribute to our trainers as well as our local employers for partnering with us to provide valuable work placement opportunities,” Ms Busby said.
“Getting out of the classroom and learning on the job provides the hands-on practical component that complements the theory learned.”
One graduating student Kyrah Sheather-Dean, thoroughly enjoyed her child care training and work experience opportunity. Having left school after completing Year 10 and working for a couple of years in a fish and chip shop, Kyrah knew she wanted to change her career and follow her passion.
“I knew I wanted to change my career and get into child care which is something I have always wanted to do,” Ms Sheather-Dean said.
“I am really excited to have finished the course and quickly get a job in my chosen career,” she said.
Director of Stepping Stones Urunga Bronwyn Taylor said that sourcing the right staff who are qualified and demonstrate an empathy for children are very difficult to find.
“We are looking after people’s most precious gems, so I need staff who are dedicated and really want to work with children,” Ms Taylor said.
“I contacted ETC Recruitment who said they had the right person for me.
They were right. Kyrah is an outstanding worker and we are glad to have her in our team.”
