Career Boost: QLD Government-Subsidised Training to Help You Advance Your Career

Career Boost is a Queensland Government-funded program that provides eligible individuals with one subsidised training place in a Certificate IV, Diploma or Advanced Diploma qualification under the general training pathway.

The program is designed to help participants build higher-level skills to:

  • Secure employment
  • Progress in their current role
  • Advance their career
  • Pathway into further education or training

  • Individual Support – Disability (CHCSS00130)
  • Induction to Disability (CHCSS00133)

* Concessional Participants are defined as follows:

  • Hold a Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card or Veteran Card
  • Are a partner or dependent of a concession card holder
  • Identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
  • Have a disability
  • Are an adult prisoner

Who is Eligible for Career Boost?

To be eligible under the general training pathway, you must:

  • Be 15 years or older
  • Not be a school student
  • Be a permanent Queensland resident
  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, eligible visa holder, or New Zealand citizen
  • Not have completed a Certificate IV or higher qualification in the past 10 years (qualifications completed at school and foundation skills qualifications do not count)
    Note: This requirement does not apply to individuals enrolling in a skill set
  • Not be currently enrolled in another qualification (even if on hold or deferred)

Participants can access one subsidised training place under Career Boost.

*Not available under Apprenticeship or traineeship
