Entrepreneurs rejoice, ETC will now be able to support budding business owners in 6 new regions with Self-Employment Assistance

ETC is very pleased to announce that we have won new Self-Employment Assistance contracts with the Department of Education, Skills and Employment in the Hunter, New England North West, Brisbane South East, Somerset, Wivenhoe and Wide Bay Sunshine Coast Employment Regions. Plus we will be continuing to support local aspiring entrepreneurs in our existing regions of the NSW North Coast and QLD Gold Coast.

Self-Employment Assistance provides free accredited small business training to help those wanting to become a self employed business owner.

The program, formally referred to as the New Business Assistance with NEIS Program, provides personalised mentoring and support, as well as business plan development, and possible income support for eligible participants.

For more than 30 years, ETC has been helping people secure pathways into training, education and employment and has helped over 40,000 people in small business during this time.

ETC’s CEO Jenny Barnett said the company was thrilled to expand the business into new communities and have a positive impact on even more peoples’ lives.

“ETC understands the significant role that small business plays in the Australian economy and our local communities, which is why we endeavour to inspire and empower Self-Employment Assistance participants to pursue their self employment and business goals,” Mrs Barnett said.

“We look forward to supporting start-up and existing small business operators from our new locations in Armidale, Beenleigh, Browns Plains, Bundaberg, Caboolture, Caloundra, Capalaba, Charlestown, Cessnock, Chermside, Deception Bay, Inverell, Ipswich, Glen Innes, Goodna, Gympie, Kippa Ring, Logan Central, Maitland, Maroochydore, Maryborough, Mayfield, Mitchelton, Nambour, Newcastle, Noosaville, Nundah, Pialba, Raymond Terrance, Richlands, Springfield Central, Stones Corner, Strathpine, Tamworth, Upper Mount Gravatt and Wynnum.

Mrs Barnett said Self-Employment Assistance will give people the opportunity to create their own work and earn an income through starting a new business or refocusing an existing micro-business.

ETC will commence delivery of Self-Employment Assistance from 1 July 2022.
